Iolanda Pensa
About
Iolanda Pensa is senior researcher and head of “Culture and Territory Research Unit” at the Institute of Design of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). Art historian, she holds two Ph.D. titles: in Social anthropology and ethnology at EHESS École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris and in Territorial government and planning at Politecnico di Milano. Her research work is about systems of knowledge production and distribution, Wikipedia and open licenses and the impact of cultural institutions, public art and biennials on territorial development. As a volunteer, she is coordinator of the Ecomuseum delle Grigne, national coordinator GLAM for Wikimedia Italia, and former chair of Wikimedia Italia and of the international Wikimania Steering Committee.
